Comparisons and Summaries

1. Determine whether or not you need more time on the district assessment.

2. Review Reading Comprehension standards 2.3 and 2.4:

2.3 Find similarities and differences between texts in the treatment, scope, or organization of ideas.

2.4 Compare the original text to a summary to determine whether the summary accurately captures the main ideas, includes critical details, and conveys the underlying meaning.


3. Get into groups and put the standards into your own words. Present your understandings and your rewording to the class. Also present two ideas for lessons help you understand the standard.

4. Each group turns in a paper with the above.

Homework: Summarize a page of your history book. Include the page number.
